Job Description

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join us as we pioneer relationship intelligence. Sales Engineers are prized switch-hitters that can change gears on a dime; from talking shop with sales reps, to diving deep on technical infrastructure with IT support. Working in conjunction with Sales Representative and Technical Consultant as a product advocate, the Sales Engineer will identify and address technical aspects through all stages of the sales process. As to be expected in a company moving as fast as we are, the scope of this position will evolve continuously. Comfort with ambiguity is required. Below is a partial representation of what may be included in the Sales Engineer’s typical week:

  • • Liaise with Technical Consulting Team to provide consultative technical expertise for all customer needs
  • • Be an integral teammate of the pre-sales process as it pertains to solution design, API/integration, security or infrastructure discussions
  • • Effectively communicate & build confidence with customers across teams (IT, sales, executives, etc.)
  • • Understand API/integrations, test and use API endpoints, familiarity with middleware
  • • Represent the product to customers and at field events such as conferences and seminars
  • • specifically to showcase software, networking and security stack

Requirements

  • • 2+ years relevant experience in sales engineering, technical consulting (implementation), or solution selling
  • • Previous consulting experience including configuration and design of solutions with software applications
  • • General knowledge of cloud security principles & IT infrastructure
  • • Experience in integrations and cloud solutions including APIs
  • • Exceptional oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • • Continuous and thoughtful listener & communicator; proven ability to gather and share market and customer feedback
  • • Experience in a customer-facing role
  • • SaaS or PaaS experience is a plus specifically with CRM, ERP or Customer Management tools
  • • Upmarket experience; working with companies and customers
  • • Experience with working with cross-functional teams with a track record of building positive relationships
  • • A bachelors degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related technical field
